Important Holiday Dates for MemoKid Students

At MemoKid Accelerated Learning Center of Fairfax, we follow most federal holidays and the Fairfax County Public Schools’ winter and spring breaks for students enrolled in the 2025–2026 academic year programs of Speed Math and Super Memory. Below is the student holiday schedule with specific dates.

The Importance of Rest for Brain Development

Sufficient rest is essential for healthy brain development. We wish all students and parents positive time-off during these holidays. However, during longer breaks, we encourage parents to help students keep their skills active with light practice. This way, they can return refreshed and ready to learn!

Keeping Skills Sharp During Breaks

During breaks, it’s vital to keep the momentum going. Engage your child in fun, educational activities. This could be through puzzles, games, or even light reading. The goal is to ensure that learning continues in an enjoyable way.

Fun Learning Activities

Here are some fun activities you can do with your child during the holidays:

  1. Math Games: Use everyday items to create math problems. Count fruits, measure ingredients for a recipe, or play board games that involve counting and strategy.

  2. Memory Challenges: Play memory games that boost recall skills. You can use cards or even create your own memory matching game with family photos.

  3. Reading Together: Choose a book that interests your child. Read together and discuss the story. Ask questions to enhance comprehension.

  4. Creative Projects: Encourage creativity through arts and crafts. This not only keeps them engaged but also helps develop fine motor skills.

  5. Outdoor Activities: Take learning outside! Nature walks can be a great way to explore science. Discuss plants, animals, and the environment.

Conclusion

At MemoKid, we believe every child has incredible potential waiting to be unlocked. Our programs are designed to build confidence, sharpen focus, and develop lifelong learning skills.
