On May 2, we successfully hosted the MemoKid Cup: Spring 2026 Speed Math Tournament and more than 40 students from our Speed Math Year 2 program competed at the level of professional mind sports athletes. They competed in the following four highly rigorous disciplines entirely through mental calculation without any external tools or notetaking.

  • Flash Anzan: Our students rapidly added single and double-digit numbers at speeds reaching 0.2-0.3 seconds per operation.

  • 10 Digit Additions: They solved addition problems over a 20-minute period, with tens of 10-digit numbers per problem.

  • 8 Digit Multiplications: A 15-minute discipline where students mentally multiplied 8 digit by 8 digit numbers, with answers in 10 quadrillions.

  • Calendar Dates: Students identified the day of the week for various calendar dates using mental recall and calculation.

This time, the MemoKid Cup was organized in conjunction with Mind Sports Management. This partnership allowed our students to choose to submit their performance data for the Spring 2026 Mongolian National Ranking Competition of Speed Math, where 450 athletes from the Mongolian Intellectual Academy branches in Mongolia and overseas ended up participating.

Several of our MemoKid DMV students in the Falls Church, VA location sent their performance data and were able achieve notable results. In the 10-digit addition category for the age division of 9-12, where 184 athletes participated and 178 successfully competed, three of our students ranked in the top half. This included our young third grader, Anand M., who achieved the 15th highest score. Furthermore, three MemoKid athletes, Henry N., Khulan Ch. and Michael T., tied for the 9th highest point in the 8-digit multiplication discipline.

We utilize these tournaments to help students practice performing under pressure and refine their mental calculation skills. These events require steady attention and efficient processing, which are core components of our Speed Math curriculum.

Congratulations to the following MemoKid Cup champions and medalists.
